We are located on one block north of the Antigua market, 1 1/2 blocks from the Post Office and La Bodegona, the big supermarket and the main bus and taxi station.    See map.

It is very convenient and easy to do your shopping here.  We are 4 blocks from the main square, the "Parque Central" and 5a Avenida, within walking distance of dozens of excellent restaurants.

Welcome to Alameda Santa Lucia Norte #12
This modern house, constructed to California earthquake standards between 2002-4, with Antiqueño colonial architecture, offers four apartments for sale and two for rent. 

The plan below shows the three ground level apartments, and equipped to American standards.  All have kitchens with dishwashers, stoves, microwaves, fridge/freezers.  All also have their own laundries with washers and dryers. 

There are two more, two-bedroom apartments upstairs on the second level, each with a small patio with a view of Volcano Agua.  Each has a private hallway and private 1,250 square foot rooftop terraces each, with lots of flowers and views of all three of Antigua's volcanoes.  You can read there, relax, take in the sun, even watch the Semana Santa procession or New Year's fireworks all over the town.

Cable TV service is free and each apartment has a high-speed internet connection, with speeds available from 1 - 10 Mbps.  All apartments have telephones.  They look onto a central courtyard with two fountains, flowers, trees, which are covered with orchids ... an amazing quiet enclave in the city center.  We have a full-time gardener to maintain it.  There is an on-site, secure parking lot for 3 cars, connected to the apartments by a covered walkway.

There is a 20,000 liter water tank in the sub-basement and a pump and pressure tank to ensure good water pressure even when Antigua town water fails.  Each apartment has its own electric meter and each has its own water heater.  Gas is shared between the apartments.

All apartments have access to two huge, 1,250 square feet rooftop terraces, with lots of flowers and views of all three of Antigua's volcanoes.  You can read there, relax, take in the sun, even watch the Semana Santa procession or New Year's fireworks all over the town.

The apartments have intercoms to the street entrance, to be changed to video intercoms in 2016.  They are safe and quiet and we.  The owner lives in the same complex, immediately behind the apartments.  The common areas of the building are kept spotless and cleaned daily.  We have someone who can take your garbage out and clean your apartment.

Very close, behind the house on the Avenida Recoleccion is a modern Hospital Privado Hermano Pedro.

Apartamento Sur, our largest, is about 1,250 square feet. The guest apartment has handmade Antigua tiles and a small internal garden. Apartamento Norte includes the private section of the terrace, screened off by wrought iron and ivy from the garden that it overlooks. The central courtyad has two fountains, many flowers, a herb garden, and mature avocado, orange and lemon trees that are hosts to dozens of orchids.  There are many hanging flower baskets all around the courtyard. The cobblestoned entrance is locked at night.  A wrought iron gate, locked at all times, separates the apartments from the entry area.  The three shops include a small internet cafe and, soon our daughter's well-stocked English-laungage DVD rental shop. All three apartments also have access to two huge rooftop terraces with views of Antigua's volcanoes

Apartamento Sur has a huge master bedroom with two walk-in closets and a bathroom with a jacuzzi, a guest bedroom with a closet and a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room with a counter into the kitchen, living room and a laundry.  There are ceiling fans throughout.  The apartment is large, about 1,250 square feet.  It overlooks a quiet private garden.

The entry to the apartment is through a wide 4 section glass door, which is protected by its own wrought iron gate with a lock.

Apartamento Norte is similar to Sur.  It has a bedroom with a walk-in closet, and a bathroom.  There is a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, with a counter into the kitchen, and a living room with another larger walk-in closet.

This apartment is unique in that the northern part of the courtyard is part of it, cut off by a wrought-iron partition with vines ... the terrace can be used as an outdoor hallway linking different rooms, or as an an outdoor sitting room overlooking the garden. 

All apartments windows have mosquito screening.


In the Alameda, between 2002-2009, in front of the house, with permit from the town, with help from many neighbours up and down the street, I installed 200 jardinieras with flowers and new trees and in 2009 the town took over their maintenance.
